Hospice is recruiting to expand its team of volunteer therapists to work with patients. Volunteers are required to complete a one day Palliative Care Course on site at Hospice North Shore.
Volunteering in a Hospice Shop is a great way to meet interesting people and develop new skills, while making a big difference to the lives of patients and families in the care of Hospice North Shore.
Volunteers work regular shifts, serving behind the counter and helping to sort and price donations. Most shifts are for four hours, once a week. We are always looking for volunteers for our Hospice Shops. To find out more, please contact our friendly Volunteering team by e-mail or by calling (09) 485 3581.
Our receptionists are often the first point of contact for visitors to Hospice's inpatient unit in Shea Terrace, Takapuna. They communicate sensitively with relatives and friends of patients, answer incoming calls and sell goods from our merchandise area. We offer a choice of shifts, 7 days a week. While full training will be given, previous experience is preferred.
If you are able to donate your time to volunteer on Hospice North Shore's reception, please contact our Volunteering team by e-mail or by calling (09) 485 3581.
The hub of Hospice North Shore is definitely the kitchen! Nothing makes the Hospice more home-like than the aroma of home baking. Volunteers in the kitchen work together with our Housekeepers to prepare and serve meals and maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen. Shifts are available throughout the week (including weekends), and are generally two hours long.
To register your interest, please contact our Volunteering team by e-mail or by calling (09) 485 3581.

Requests may be any time between 9am and 4pm.
If you're able to donate your time by being a volunteer driver, please contact our Volunteering team by e-mail or by calling (09) 485 3581.
