In 1983, North Shore Hospice as it was known, began with volunteers working out of one tiny room. A few years later one nurse was employed and in her first 12 months on the job she took care of 30 patients.

Tricia Clarkson was the first nurse employed at the, then named, North Shore Hospice

In 2013, we celebrated the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the North Shore Hospice Trust.

We are proud to have become an established and treasured part of the North Shore community; continuing to provide compassionate, specialist care to people who are dying, and supporting the families and carers who love them.

You can view the 30 years of caring for our community timeline here.
