Coastal Challenge offers something for everyone

With an event for all ages, abilities, shapes and sizes, challenge yourself and explore our beautiful coastline in the Colliers Coastal Challenge.

This is arguably the best-off road event on the North Shore.  The fun and scenic course takes you along the stunning East coast from Arkles Bay in Whangaparaoa to Windsor Reserve in Devonport.

Options for all fitness levels

Starting a different points along the coastline all courses finish in Devonport.

  • Keen athletes can take on the 33km run from Arkles Bay.  Join as a solo runner or, to be in the running for the title of ‘Coastal Charity Champions’, join as a relay team (details below).
  • A more manageable option is the 22km run from Long Bay.
  • There are also 17km and 11km distances, leaving from Browns Bay and Milford respectively.  You can either run or walk these options.
  • Those who prefer a more leisurely stroll, there is the 6km walk  for run from Takapuna.

Be in the running for the title “Coastal Charity Champions” in the 33km team relay

Can you take the “Coastal Charity Champions” title away from 2017 winners, PAK’N SAVE, Wairau?   The winners are decided by a combination of points from money raised and the team’s placing in the run.  It’s easy as 1, 2, 3.

  1. Sign your team up to ‘Run for Hospice”
  2. Raise the most money for Hospice by getting colleagues, suppliers, friends and family to sponsor your efforts.  We can help you set up your own EveryDayHero page to help you.
  3. Add the total raised it to your team placing in the relay and see if you come out on top.

“The Coastal Challenge is an amazing opportunity to invigorate our staff and bring together teams who challenge themselves and each other to push their limits.  The race brings out the competitive and compassionate sides in everyone as they strive to raise as much as possible for Hospice North Shore who offer amazing support to both patients and their families at a very difficult time.

PAK'nSAVE Wairau is committed to the cause and will be pushing to get more teams involved and raise even more in 2018.”

Keith Woods, Human Resources Manager, PAK'nSAVE, Wairau

Hospice North Shore is delighted to be charity partner of the Coastal Challenge for the seventh year in 2018.
