Four Vauxhall Primary school children have shown their love for Hospice North Shore by selling their hand-drawn comic books and donating the proceeds to the charity’s Devonport shop.
Young philanthropist Janek Wakuluk (7) has visited the shop many times with his Mum Andrea and siblings; not only to buy treasures, but also to donate his clothes and toys.
But during the recent school holidays Janek took his altruism a step further. Together with his three friends Daniel Skilton (7), Rooster Cope (7) and Henry Brewer (8), the boys decided to raise money for Hospice by selling their hand-drawn comic books.
Featuring superheroes of their own design and imagination, the four boys’ works raised an impressive $43.50.
It takes a lot of work to draw a comic strip and then to set up the stall and drum up business. We at Hospice admire their dedication, artistic skills and their selflessness in thinking of the people they could help with the money they raised.
Thank you!
