Thank you to everyone who made this year’s Colliers Coastal Challenge our best one yet, raising over $30,000 to help support those in our community who need Hospice care.
PAK’nSave Albany, The Warehouse Albany, PAK’nSave Wairau Road and our own Hospice Hobblers, battled it out for the bragging rights of winning inaugural ‘Coastal Charity Champions’ title by ‘Running for Hospice’. The teams racing to see who could raise the most funds for Hospice and come out on top when their placing in the 33km Full Monty Relay. It was a competitive battle with these four teams raising over $27,000 between them and all determined to be the first ‘Running for Hospice’ team to cross the finish line. Congratulations to PAK’nSave Albany Coastbusters who took out the fundraising and the challenge on the day. Sam, Store Manager said “Our staff thoroughly enjoyed being involved in this year’s Colliers Coastal Challenge. All of our staff were involved, if they weren’t competing, they were helping the team raise money for Hospice North Shore. They entire team did themselves, and us, proud. We look forward to defending our ‘Coastal Charity Champions’ title next year.”
We also appreciate the support from the Running for Hospice teams from Westpac, H Morris & BNZ Partners.
We would also like to acknowledge the incredible work of members from the local North Shore Rotary Clubs who were seen all the way down the North Shore coastline marshalling the hundreds of competitors throughout the entire day – some starting at early at 5.30am to look after the 33km runners at the start.
None of this would have been possible without Total Sport, the event organisers, who saw the difference they could help make in the North Shore community by adopting Hospice North Shore as the Charity Partner for the Colliers Coastal Challenge.
The Colliers Coastal Challenge is a great team building event, and while the longer events are hard, it is about the challenge and we love it! We hope you can join us for the 2017 Colliers Coastal Challenge.
