An exciting new campaign, launched this Hospice Awareness Week, offers you the chance to have your say about what you would wish for if you had just months to live.
Visit a Hospice North Shore shop to complete the sentence “If I had months to live I would……”
The campaign has the support of Sol3 Mio’s Moses Mackay, one of NZ’s most respected actors, Shane Cortese, Hospice North Shore Patron Judy Bailey and several other famous faces. Each visited one of our shops last week to write his or her ‘wish’ on a blackboard and offer words of support for our charity. View a teaser video of their messages here.
“This campaign is about connecting with people in the North Shore Community,” explains Hospice North Shore Chief Executive Jan Nichols. “We hope it demonstrates how the physical, emotional and spiritual care provided by Hospice helps people Live Every Moment… in whatever way is most important to them.”
For some people what is most important to them is ticking off things on their bucket list. For others creating a legacy may be their focus. And for others it may simply be about creating happy memories for those they love.
The charity is asking people to consider the value of Hospice care and to make a donation. “We rely on the generosity of our local community to continue caring for the growing number of people who need our services,” says Jan Nichols, “so fundraising is another important aim of Hospice Awareness Week.”
