Thanks to donations from many of you in our wonderful community, the much-needed refurbishment of our inpatient unit began on 3 August.
To ensure we continue offering inpatient care to those who need it most, we are working in just two or three rooms at a time, with the first two rooms ready for use in early September.
“The rooms are brighter, cleaner and more modern” says Clinical Charge Nurse Bev Platt. “The tiltaway beds make it a lot easier for patients to have their loved ones stay with them which is lovely.” The rooms have been designed with the comfort of our patients and their families in mind.
Things like accessible bathroom facilities will make it easier for patients to use and for our staff to care for them. "The room is easier to keep clean and hygienic" says Bev. "The equipment is also easier to move and the space allows us to assist patients." Calming colours make the environment as welcoming as possible too.
